ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

The current Human Resources position is ASEAN is very much a fast- paced and ever challenging concern with the dynamic socio-economic growth within the region. Faced with the current changing and challenging times contributed by falling commodity prices, currency fluctuations and several countries' poor business performance many companies in our region have been forced to seriously reconsider their HR practices. Rapid development in certain regions have led to an increase of women, Generation Y and Millenials in the workforce whilst some countries face the problem of ageing populations nd ageing workforce.

In the face of these challenges, HR remains the key for companies to remain competitive in order to sustainably contribute to the ASEAN region's economic growth. As such, the AIR HR Conference 2016 has chosen the theme of "Adapt, Innovate & Renovate" as its central focus of discussion.

The Conference aims to bring together business leaders, top HR management and executives, representatives of regional governments, international NGO representatives, industry professionals and HR Consultants to meet with like-minded individuals to learn from the current high flyers of HR Speakers and trainers. It is an opportunity for HR practitioners from the ASEAN+6 region to converge for a time of learning, sharing, networking, professional and personal self-improvement. Our mission is to bring forth and discuss pertinent issues for consideration and discussion after which the respective participants can bring back new ideas to prepare and equip themselves to face new rising scenarios crucial to HR within the region.

Each Speaker will be presenting their thoughts for 2 hours in order to go deep into their chosen subject matter. The reason for having a limited number of speakers but allowing a longer time to present their subject matter is because feedback from most Conference participants for the year have been the Speakers' presentations were too brief and only skimming the surface. It is our aim, therefore, to create depth for learning to add value to the learning and Conference experience.

We will also be hosting Post- Conference Workshops to allow the Speakers to then go deeper into their subject matter with those interested participants and these workshops will be for a limited number of spaces to enable participants to enjoy and gain further benefit from their sessions.

OPPORTUNITY FOR NETWORKING

It is anticipated that the delegates will be from Malaysia and other ASEAN+6 countries and thus there will be plenty of networking opportunities during the Conference itself and at the Gala Dinner as well as the Post- Conference Workshops which will enable the delegates to build lasting professional relationships that will be useful for their career. Universities will also have the opportunity to sponsor final year and postgraduate students who demonstrate a high level of leadership qualities on a 2-day Conference pass to enable them to benefit from the discussions and meet future employers from their chosen industries and vice versa.

  • WHAT IT TAKES FOR HR LEADERS TO LEAD AND INNOVATE IN THE 21ST CENTURY

In each subject matter, the Speaker will examine the issues at hand questioning and deeply discussing the golden trio that haunts us in every organisation. The Whats, The Whys and The Hows of each topic offering probing and tantalising ideas for solution.
